"The Natural Truth"
Having battled with sensitive skin my entire life, including a severe case of ecxema, I struggled to find a product that
would work for my skin type. After spending a fortune at high end retailers on supposedly "quality products" and
not getting any results, I began doing my own research. What I found is that most of these well known companies who claim
their products are "natural" are using synthetic fragrances and caustic ingredients, not to mention some of the
cheapest oils on the marketplace like rice bran oil and soybean oil.
A lot of these companies make body butters and cremes using coconut oil and cocoa butter as the base ingredient, both
can cause irritation to sensitive skin and be drying if used in large amounts.
Many Companies claim that their products are made with "natural botanicals" but are actually filled with caustic
fragrances and ingredients like SODIUM LAUREL SULFATE or(SLS). SLS is derived from the coconut, but is a highly toxic cleansing
and foaming agent (shower gels, toothpaste, soaps, etc.) Since SLS is rinsed off the skin, it doesn't pose as high of a risk
as if it were left on your skin for 30 minutes. However, those with sensitive skin are adversely harmed by these minimal
levels of SLS usually resulting in a rash or dry skin. This was a shock to me and as a result I feel the need to educate
others so that they too can take better care of their skin. I spent the last 8 years developing Minka bodycare a 100% natural
